Our One-on-One Private
singing lessons are our most popular and most effective method of teaching.
Private singing lessons
differ from group lessons in that
they are
very much tailored to the individual singer's requirements however usually cover
areas such as vocal technique, microphone techniques, interpretation, musical
style, performance skills such as deportment, movement and drama - in fact
anything needed to get a song across.

Building the singer's confidence
is very much our primary aim...
and this is what your
teacher will work on from the outset, as is
working in a relaxed, friendly yet fun environment.
In private sessions you'll
learn...
-
All the essentials:
breathing, support, placement, relaxation, projection, how to increase your
vocal range, volume, resonance, diction, how to warm up, general care and
strengthening of your voice.
-
All the polish:
interpretation, vocal style, phrasing, belting, improvising, tone, runs,
performance skills, mic technique.
-
All the extras: how to
harmonise, studio/performance preparation, how to find or create a band,
music theory and sight singing, building a repertoire, songwriting, and goal
defining.
Private
singing lessons are an ideal way to learn...
the correct techniques required to
produce a quality voice and strengthen vocal weaknesses. Techniques are taught
and demonstrated by way of fun exercises and songs rather than endless hours of
scales! At the same time as learning about technique, you will also be building
a repertoire of songs should you wish to enter the music industry.

Private singing lessons normally run for 1 hour as there is frequently a lot of
work to cover. They are held on a weekly basis for students who are
really committed to improving their voice. The initial lesson will be an
assessment of vocal strengths and weaknesses and a discussion about their past
experience and aims of the student. From there we will talk about ways of
achieving these goals and begin using the songs of your choice to address areas
of your voice to be worked on.
The main benefit of having a private lesson is that everything is done at your pace. You can
ask as many questions as you want without fearing you are holding the rest of
the group up. You also play a part in how the lessons are structured.
