Nadine has
been involved in singing for over 12 years. Over the years she has been trained
in classical, jazz and musical theatre and has been involved in various choirs.
She has also been playing piano for seven years.
Nadine received and undertook a two year scholarship at the Canberra
School of Music singing in their jazz program and was taught by jazz greats such
as Gery Scott. She completed the scholarship with a Distinction average and then
went on to complete a Musical Theatre degree majoring in performance at the
University of Wollongong.
Nadine spent the next two years singing professionally performing with many of
Australias renowned chart topping performers such as 'Sneaky Sound System', 'Kid
Kenobi', 'TV Rock', 'Bang Gangs DJ's', and the Boogie Pimps. During this time
she released a single - 'Heart for Last' which received regular airplay on
Illawarra's Wave FM and was played by numerous artists as far as Singapore.
Nadine has been heavily involved in musical theatre for the past ten years
performing as a soloist in numerous 'Heart Foundation' charity events and as the
understudy for the 'Narrator' in 'Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat'. She was
nominated for numerous Canberra Area Theatre Awards including 'Best Lead Actress
in a Musical'. Nadine has just completed the lead role of Maggie in a new
Australian musical 'Midlight' premiering at NIDA. She is currently studying for
her level 7 Trinity College Music Exams in Musical Theatre.
Acting-wise,
Nadine has studied both the Stanislavski method and Yat Malgrem techniques. She
has been involved in many different plays through her degree at University
including the role of Anitra in 'Peer Gynt' at the IPAC directed by Patrick
Nolan from Opera Australia. She has studied acting for screen with Michael
Bates. She has studied voice for actors closely for three years, including vocal
health, phonetics and safe vocal acting techniques.
Her greatest
achievement to-date is her success in starting a semi-professional contemporary
musical theatre company based in the Illawarra. Contemporary musical theatre is
Nadine's true passion and she is excited to be giving other performers the
chance to explore this new style of performance.
